Finished Reading: The Museum of Second Chances

Amazon First Reads June 2026 Pick

Lovely story about Evelyn Silver and her quirky, little museum filled with discarded items. Some wash ashore and are found by Evelyn on her early morning walks. Others she’s found at jumble sales and thrift shops over the years. Evelyn believes that every forgotten or discarded thing has a story. Perhaps she feels this way because she too, was a foundling and she hopes to one day learn her beginning story.

This is a wonderfully written tale about self-discovery and how lives are intertwined in ways we never imagined. It was heartwarming. The characters are likable and well defined and the pacing is spot on. There were no sections where I felt I was trudging through. I enjoyed it a lot and I’m so glad I picked this as one of my free selections from Amazon First Reads. It’s not my usual genre but I was drawn to it nonetheless.

It earns a solid 4/5 from me.

Happy reading!
